With an extraordinary increment of almost 500 points in his rating history in one year, Christopher Shimizu who attends a 10 weeks Summer Camp at the Chess Forum, confirm himself as the number One of this camp, and ratifies his powerful chess knowledge in search of great performances in the United States.
Chris jump quickly to conquest many first places in scholastic chess tournaments in New York. In December 2003, Chris helped his 4 grade team from PS 116 to obtain the 5th. place at the Nationals, accumulating the most of the possible points.
At the Chess Forum Summer Camp, this year, Chris received important advice of former Vice-World Champion FM Angel Mera, who thinks that "His (Chris) courage and dedication will help him to reach the top of the mountain".

   
Right at the heart of Manhattan, in the Greenwich Village, Chess Forum is running with great success every year Chess Camps in spring and summer, (winter too!) under the direction of Miguel Iñiguez. The best chess teachers on town working right in the best chess store in New York !

PRINCETON

 

Running for 4 years in a row, the Princeton Summer Chess Camp broke in 2004 all
records. Close to two hundred kids alternated for 8 weeks in two groups: mornings and afternoons in a deployment of fantastic acceptance to accomplished tremendous improvement. "We'll be back" was the goodbye of the children at the end.
