Couple years ago a very strong chess player from The Renaissance Chess Program hangs the chess board to dedicated more time to the school.
So, when he retook the pieces at the chess club in October, just his fame was preceding him. At the training, many times he declined his king but stoically, he keeps on going until faced his test by participating in tournaments.
Scott Brevda did play the October Chess Tournament Queens zone. However, his decent participation was not what he was ambitioning.
November was different, gotta be!
After wining his match with Chelsea Hughes, he lost against Madison Zic, later, he defeats Luca Negroponte and finally to Dylan Maida.
In other board, Moses Levich forced a playoff after his victory against Madison.
Those three players wait for Katie Zic who also qualifies to the playoffof the Queens scholastic Chess Tournament.
Like that we have: Madison, Moses, Katie and Scott Brevda to decide the winner of the Monty Joffee Trophy.
At the end, in incredible come back, Scott defeated all his opponents forcing to carry home the appreciated Renaissance Chess Tournament trophy.
Scott is back!
